In the middle of 2011, Crowned Heads began working with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo on what would become the inaugural blend from the Nashville-based company, “Four Kicks.”
Today, close to a decade later, the Four Kicks brand thrives as a cornerstone to the Crowned Heads premium cigar portfolio. What is little known about the original Four Kicks blend is that during the latter stages of final blend selection, the decision came down to three different options. Two of the final blends were favored by Crowned Heads and featured an Ecuadorian (Habano) wrapper. The third, and never released blend, featured an Ecuadorian (Sumatra) wrapper and was the favorite of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. The directive from Perez-Carrillo was clear, though, and ultimately the brand would live or die solely by the selection and decisions made by Crowned Heads, and in the end the Ecuadorian (Habano) variant won out.
Nine years later, Crowned Heads turns back the clock to the preferred blend of Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame member and industry icon, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. Crowned Heads is excited and proud to introduce the latest extension to the Four Kicks brand family, “Four Kicks Capa Especial.”Four Kicks Capa Especial features binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and is finished with a gorgeous Ecuadorian (Sumatra) wrapper.
