DAVIDOFF AND THE CHINESE ZODIAC
SETTING THE STANDARD 2013-2024
As the industry leader, Davidoff was the first brand to create a limited-edition cigar inspired by a Chinese zodiac sign in 2012. The concept was an immediate success and grew over time. Davidoff gradually added more product innovations to the annual launch, all designed to fill time beautifully in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024 completed the brand’s very first global cycle that had begun with the Year of the Snake Limited Edition in 2013. To mark the occasion, Davidoff launched the first Collector’s Edition of the industry, combining all 12 global limited-edition cigars from 2013 to 2024.

THE LIMITED EDITION CIGAR
INNOVATIVE BLEND AND TASTE PROFILE
The taste profile of the blend is quite unusual and a novelty for a Davidoff cigar. With its flavours of lemon, leather and coffee, the limited edition cigar makes for a perfect introduction to the new cycle. The Dominican San Vicente and the Mexican Negro San Andres filler tobaccos, which are both known to stimulate the areas on the palate responsible for sour and salty sensations, drive
the fresh and lemony notes.
The blend is not only unique in taste stimulation, but also in tobacco innovation. This is only the second time Davidoff’s Master Blenders have used Mexican filler tobacco in a cigar, and the first time they have used a Dominican hybrid seed 98 tobacco from the Martin Garcia terroir, which adds sweet and creamy notes. The wrapper and binder are both from Ecuador and perfectly balance the flavours.

LANCERO FORMAT
Like the previous 2013 Snake churchill cigar, the long and slender lancero format pays homage to the shape of a snake. Because of its length, a lancero is considered one of the most elegant cigar formats and perfectly captures the elegance of the Snake’s character. Davidoff’s Master Blenders envisioned the flavours gliding dynamically across the palate, often changing direction, while maintaining Davidoff’s signature balance – a challenge for a complex blend in such limited space.

PACKAGING INNOVATION
The Year of the Snake Limited Edition 2025 comes in a wooden box of ten, which, like the Snake, is elegant, graceful and serene on the outside, but leaves the excitement inside for those who want to explore. A removable wooden frame adds to the excitement of unboxing and the novelties inside. Aficionados will receive their removable, numbered collector’s coin and can admire the second band of the cigar in red with a yellow accent. As red is considered a lucky colour in Chinese culture, and yellow is one of the lucky colours of the Snake zodiac sign, the combination is believed to bring good fortune and prosperity.

LUCKY PAIRINGS
As yellow is one of the Snake’s lucky colours, those born in the Year of the Snake are advised to incorporate the colour into their daily lives. With its fruity notes, the Year of the Snake cigar is the perfect accompaniment to yellow drinks.

YELLOW BIRD COCKTAIL
This refreshing drink, made with rum, herbs and orange liquor, lime juice and orange juice, pairs well with the lemony notes at the start of the cigar. The leather and coffee flavours that make an appearance in the second and the last third also complement the citrus and fruit notes of the cocktail.

LEMON GINGER TEA
In this combination, the lemon, leather and coffee notes of the cigar complement the refreshing taste of a tea made with lemon, fresh ginger, hot water and honey. The ginger in the tea continuously cleanses the palate for a unique stimulation.

**A Collectors Coin will be issued with each Davidoff Chinese Zodiac release starting this year. This years coin will interlock with another piece included in this years upcoming gift set (due December)to form a cigar stand. A specialized box to store all the upcoming Collectors Coins in this series is expected at a future date as well.
