THE STORY
PERFECTION IN EVERY LAYER

Sir Winston Churchill was a man of many facets – the world leader’s diverse interests governed his daily routines and complemented one another. One way for Sir Winston to unwind from the rigours of running a country was through his love for art.

A painter of note, it was his achievements on the canvas which gave Sir Winston as much pride as those on the world’s stage. His paintings of rich landscapes were a creative outlet that enriched his office responsibilities.

Brush in one hand, cigar in the other, he would apply his artistry layer by layer, blended to a complex masterpiece that would delight those indulging in it.

Inspired by this routine, the Davidoff Master Blenders composed this limited-edition cigar with a multi-origin blend that is as layered as Sir Winston and his paintings. The complex yet harmonious taste journey of nuts, coffee and cedar wood would have been the perfect accompaniment for one of Sir Winston’s painting sessions.

Presented in the format honouring the great aficionado himself, the Churchill certainly lives up to its name. A man of great complexity deserves a cigar of equal depth.

BACKGROUND
Sir Winston Churchill was a man of many talents. He never ceased to inspire those around him with his diverse skills and interests, not only in politics and travel, but also in writing and the arts – often with a cigar in his hand, no matter the time of day or night. Davidoff has translated Sir Winston’s multi-faceted character into complex multi-origin blends and formats that accompany aficionados throughout the day and into the night. The Davidoff Winston Churchill «The Original Series» offers cigars that are ideal for daytime enjoyment, while «The Late Hour Series» presents a blend with formats that are perfect for more intense evening enjoyment.

THE DAVIDOFF WINSTON CHURCHILL LIMITED EDITIONS
Davidoff launched the highly acclaimed Winston Churchill Limited Editions in 2016, with each release highlighting one of the many character facets of the iconic leader:

The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Editions inspired by the Raconteur (2016), the Traveller (2019), the Commander (2021), or the Statesman (2022) have created excitement and increased desirability among customers.

In 2025, aficionados will be delighted by another Limited Edition, which will be available in limited quantities and will showcase Sir Winston’s artistic personality: The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2025. The Churchill cigar is inspired by his character facet of the Artist.

THE ARTWORK
One exceptional highlight included in the packaging of this Limited Edition is the painting by Sir Winston Churchill.

Inside the lid is featured the exclusive artwork “Cork Trees Near Mimizan”, adding a unique and distinguished personal touch to this special edition. Sir Winston painted this beautiful scene in the south of France in 1924. Davidoff was granted exclusive permission to use the artwork thanks to the collaboration with the Churchill family.

Inside the box, a wooden separator allows for the cigars to be stored properly. For those aficionados who wish to present their cigars outside the box, Davidoff has included a wooden inlay inspired by a painter’s palette. Another element reminiscent of an artist’s toolbox is the hook clasp. For a finishing touch and easy handling, Davidoff has included two golden hinges on the sides to keep the lid in place.

CIGAR AND BLEND
INSPIRED BY THE FACET OF THE ARTIST

The Churchill format of the Limited Edition cigar is not only Sir Winston’s personal favourite; it is also reminiscent of a paintbrush. As an artist, Sir Winston skillfully used the brush to bring his creative vision to life on canvas. When painting, he knew of the significance of balanced blending. Changing even a small amount of the same colour in a blend has a big effect on the final colour.

The same applies to cigar blends. Davidoff crafted the limited cigar with the same multi-origin tobaccos as in «The Original Series», but creatively balanced them in different proportions to create a new taste experience:

Like all Winston Churchill cigars, the Limited Edition 2025 delights with complex flavours of nuts, black coffee and cedar wood. In particular the tobacco from the Martin Garcia zone, with its high exposure to sunlight and very rich dark soil, adds a unique complexity and sweetness to the cigar. The refined aromas and subtle flavours change and develop throughout of the generous format.

ESPRESSO MARTINI

Sir Winston’s painting is a complex yet harmonious combination of colours and tones that leaves a lasting impression on the viewer.

Pairing the cigar inspired by Sir Winston’s artistic endeavours with an espresso martini reflects this multi-layered journey:

As you enjoy the different nuances and flavours of the drink, the cigar perfectly enhances the experience with its coffee notes, especially in the second third. In addition, the creaminess of the drink is nicely complemented by the spicy notes of the cigar. An experience that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

VIRGIN ESPRESSO MARTINI
Another drink to pair with the Churchill cigar is an easy-to-mix virgin espresso martini that pleases with intense coffee flavour combined with cream and vanilla aromas. Add caramel syrup and vanilla extract for an even more harmonious combination.
