“She’s the sweetest rose of color this solider ever knew/
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like dew/
You may talk about your Dearest May, and sing of Rosa Lee/
But the Yellow Rose of Texas is the only one for me.”
– The Yellow Rose of Texas
“The Yellow Rose of Texas” is a traditional folk song that dates back to circa 1836.
The song became popular among Confederate soldiers in the Texas Brigade during the American Civil War. General John Bell Hood introduced it as a marching song to the Army of Tennessee in July 1864.
It is in the spirit of this song that Crowned Heads presents, “The Yellow Rose”, previously exclusive to the state of Texas. Manufactured by My Father Cigars S.A. in Esteli, Nicaragua, ‘Yellow Rose’ utilizes the same blend as the ‘Tennessee Waltz’ and the ‘Paniolo Especiale 2015’ (exclusive to Hawaii). ‘Yellow Rose’ features a dark and gutsy Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, paired with all Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos.
The result is a medium-to-full bodied smoke that exhibits a muscular structure yet retains a ‘fruit-forward’ flavor profile that is rich, bold, and balanced. We hope you will enjoy this very special cigar, and we thank you for your support which allows us to ‘Carve Our Own Path.’
