Warthogs are tough and sturdy pigs who live in open and semi-open habitats in sub-Saharan Africa. They are widely distributed, and presently not threatened – and are being reintroduced into the areas where they have become locally extinct.

The Warthog is one of the best loved creatures, immortalised in Hollywood movies such as The Lion King. And they are one of the best oved prey of the African Savannah.

The sparse bristles that cover their body – represented in the grain and finish.

The long bristles from the top of the head down the spine – represented inthe pattern of the ring.

The upright positionof their tails when they run – represented in the long straight shank.
