Released annually and only available until the limited supply is depleted, Punch Rare Corojo cigars are made with a special, extra rich Sumatra wrapper cultivated in the mountains of Ecuador. These rare, reddish leaves are only harvested in small quantities and lend a uniquely smooth taste to the strikingly-flavorful blend. With consistently stellar ratings year after year, Punch Rare Corojo remains one of the premium cigar category’s most popular limited edition cigars.
Rare Corojo reached a milestone in 2020 and celebrated 20 years of being in humidors. Cigar smokers and retailers look forward to this seasonal launch every year starting in February.
For 2022, Punch wanted to make a special size to commemorate this historic 20-year mark. In scouring old interviews with CA and the founder of Villazon, Frank Llaneza, they came across documentation of a size that Frank used to make for Red Auerbach and Art Rooney. Frank described it as a baseball bat size and that when the rollers who made it left, they just stopped making it. Intrigued by this, Punch double checked to see if they still had the molds… and they found 80 of them for this special size.
So, you guessed it, Punch presents you with Punch Rare Corojo Aristocrat. A 6 1/8” x 40/55 figurado. A cigar they haven’t made in a very long time. A cigar size smoked by sports legends. A cigar size ALMOST forgotten.
